Amaris grew up in Summerford Farms where she lived with her mother, father and her two brothers; Pine and Midori, a young Viera her family took in. Her mother was a retired adventurer, and her father was an ex-pirate. She would fall asleep to her mom's stories of her adventures, from running errands for the Sultana to fighting side by side with the Commander of Limsa Lominsa, tales of her father plundering the seas, fighting krakens and escaping Davy Jones locker, and how when her parents met, during the height ofher mother's adventuring career, her father decided to leave the sea for a quiet life.She'd often play in the yard with her mother's carbuncle and dreamed of leaving the farms one day to become an adventuring Summoner herself.When she was just eight years old, her mother gave her one of her old grimoires to study. Her mother promised her that if she studied every night, she'd one day be able to summon a carbuncle of her own. So, she did. On days when she wasn't in class, she holed herself into her room and read the grimoire, jotting down key elements to help her improve her summoning.As she grew older, Summerford Farms needed more hands to help with the yearly harvest. Her days and some nights were spent out in the orchards, helping the farms prepare for the harvest.But that didn't stop her from studying the grimoire. During breaks and lunch, she studied the art of summoning, often chanting the spells and summons while she worked.When she was sixteen, she had summoned her first carbuncle.It was when Summerford Farms and Limsa Lominsa put out help wanted for ads for new adventurers, that Amaris told her parents she was going to join the adventurer's guild. Her parents were supportive, her mom giving her another grimoire and the name of the Arcanist guild leader and told her to do her best.Despite her aloof personality, Amaris is incredibly friendly and likes making new friends.When she's not busy running errands for the Scions, or helping the locals, she's either spending time in her Empyerum home, having dinner with Lord Commander Aymeric. If you don't find her in Ishgard chasing down her favorite Elezens, she's hanging out with her bestie Jazz or venue hopping with her FC friends.
